The clock is ticking, people are waiting around for that sparkly ball to drop and enter the new year! The champagne is flowing, people are dancing, and are excited to ring in the new year. But there are many people in this world that hate the holiday. New Years Eve is that one holiday of the year that either brings people together, or separates them apart. The holiday has different meanings for different ranges of age groups, little kids love the holiday because they can stay up til 12:00, but they end up falling asleep on the couch before the ball drops. Teens are excited because it means they can celebrate with their friends, and usually stay up past midnight. For college students and people in their 20’s, it feels just like an ordinary night. Parents and adults cannot wait for the night to end, so they can go home, put their pajamas on, and go to bed. Adults are usually the ones that hate this holiday the most, due to the up-sell charges at restaurants, bars, and hotels, and all they want to do is have a glass of wine and enjoy their night. The older folks will go to bed around 9:30/10pm, or they can be like my grandparents, who go out with all their friends every New Years Eve. It has been their tradition since they started dating.
Since I was a little kid, and even to now, I have always loved the holiday. It is a night that I can get dressed up, go out with my friends, and celebrate with those I love.
