"You can't always get what you want" - The Rolling Stones

July is wrapping up, and only four more weeks of camp left!

How is it that in four more weeks camp will be over, and senior year of high school will be starting? It seems like it was just yesterday that I was walking out of my Chemistry regents exam, and all I was thinking about was the start of camp. It is crazy how times goes by so fast! Sometimes I look around and stop thinking and notice what I am doing, because I can remember the big moments of the day, but somehow the littlest one always slip my mind.

I’ll give you the perfect example – Yesterday at camp we were going around to every group, letting them know who made the talent show. I can’t remember going to every group, but I remember us riding the golf cart throughout the camp, as my other counselors were yelling at the basketball boys to join KDP (Kickline, Dance, and Pom) for the last session of camp. That was hilarious! After that, it feels like a blur. I can’t remember what I did, and then the next memory that comes to be is preparing the auditorium for the talent show, setting up props and organizing where everyone was going to sit. And before I knew it, I was on the bus ride home with my kids, laughing about the random pieces of information they find from God knows where.

As we only have one more month of summer left, I am going to be more aware of the little things, sit back, and just look around. This past month has truly been life changing for me, and I know that August is going to be memorable. I just have to watch it fold in front of me. And boy, am I looking forward to that!
