Yesterday I took my graduation pictures, and if I could describe it in one word, it would be surreal. It is crazy to think that now it is my turn to graduate. I still don’t have words to describe it, it feels like I am really growing up. It was very cool to be in that room, with my cap in my hand and gown draped on me. It didn’t feel like real life. When I left the room, it hit me that I just took my senior pictures, and I had to take a minute to actually realize that.
I knew exactly what I wanted to wear, a black over the shoulder top. That was what most of the girls wore in past graduation pictures, but I loved it because it looked so grown up. I got my hair curled and I did my own makeup. I wore a jean skirt because I knew it was going to be hot, and it wouldn’t show in any of my pictures. I got my nails done the day before, light pink, the perfect color for the start of senior year.
I can’t believe in less than one week I will be starting my senior year of high school. I would always look at all the girls on instagram with their cars decorated, their baby backpacks, and many, many pictures on instagram. Now, that is going to be me.
It really does feel surreal.
