TikTok’s two favorite influencers are in a public conflict, and social media is going crazy for it! There have been many feuds between celebrities in the past, ones that are still not resolved today, but this feud is different, and not because they have millions of followers on TikTok, but because they are two women who have defined Generation Z. They inspire young girls to go after what they want, and advocate for their voices to be heard. But right now they are both sending the wrong message, and social media is only adding to the battle.
The feud is between two social media mobiles, Tiktoker Alix Earle and Podcaster Alex Cooper. Alix Earle is known for her “Get Ready With Me” videos, sparking her fame at just 22 years old. She was a senior at the University of Miami, creating authentic everyday content in her dorm room, not knowing just how far she would become in just a few years. After she graduated from the Miami Herbert Business School, she created “The Alix Earle Scholarship” to support students, primarily women, by providing financial aid for tuition and other educational expenses, as a way to encourage more girls to go out for what they want. Alex Cooper is known for her podcast, Call Her Daddy, having an average 10 million listeners tuning in weekly to hear the lore from celebrities she brings on her show, including pop culture icons like Miley Cyrus, Hailey Bieber, and even former Vice President Kamala Harris. Today, she is Spotify’s highest-paid female podcaster and is one of Spotify’s most listened to podcasts year-to-date.
In Aug. 2023, Cooper launched her Unwell Channel, signing Earle to join her as one of the hosts, creating her Hot Mess podcast. Soon after, there started to be speculation of a feud between the influencers, after Earle was not seen at Unwell’s Super Bowl party. In Feb. 2025, Variety reported that Unwell had dropped Earle’s Hot Mess podcast from the channel. Cooper soon after turned to social media to deny all the rumors of her involvement with the removal of Earle’s podcast. By the summer of 2025, the fire was already inflamed, with both influencers clashing on Tiktok and Instagram, posting videos about the situation that was still not fully publicized to the media yet, as only rumors were still being made of the two in a feud.
“The drama is so entertaining, almost like a reality show unfolding,” said sophomore Rowan Danow.
As the rest of the year continued, the videos became more intense, calling out each other’s reputations and reporting “behind-the-scenes” information from both sides. By the end of the year, it was made public that Cooper and Earle were no longer working together, and no longer friends.
“I think Alix Earle and Alex Cooper’s situation is the perfect example of why business shouldn’t be involved in a friendship; it just ends up complicating things that should be basic formalities,” said sophomore Agathi Katechis.
This past month, Cooper posted a two minute video on TikTok targeting Earle about their feud and relationship, adding “I know what happened, and so do you. So talk.” She also called out Earle on “fake drama” she has been creating, as a way to distract from the other information that is circling around her.
“There’s no NDA. No one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself,” said Cooper in the video.
Followers have created “Team Alix” or “Team Alex,” as a way to demonstrate what side they are supporting, which has only added to the drama. The two have not said anything about the “teams” that have been created. This feud has now become the highlight of TikTok’s “For You Page” as followers are looking at both influencers accounts to see what they have been liking or reposting. It has become out of hand, and social media platforms are not doing anything to stop it.
“I think the drama is very entertaining. The feud, having only really come to light this past month, seems to have been a brewing conflict for over a year now, which was really shocking to discover,” said sophomore Emma Banks.
As two of the most popular influencers of the 21st century are feuding, let’s keep in mind that this behavior is not acceptable. It is important to note how social media can blow things way out of proportion, and can cause stirs that can create false rumors. It is sad that this had to become the case for the two, especially for both being known for their huge presence on social media and their successful previous collaborations. Social media should be a place to bring people together, and now, it has split two collaborators, and friends, apart.
